Thermoelectric generators can be used in the solar thermoelectric generator systems (STEGs) to convert solar energy to the useful electricity. Even though they have less efficiency than the photovoltaic (PV) systems but are more appropriate for the concentrated solar applications and high temperature applications. Due to the higher input energy and heat flux to the system, even with lower efficiency they can generate more power than PV cells.
